Send Flowers to Askøy, Norway

Askøy is an island municipality immediately west of Bergen, connected to the city by the Askøy Bridge and populated largely by families who commute across for work. Its centre is at Kleppestø, where the ferry to Bergen docks. Many Askøy residents have children or siblings abroad, and flowers delivered here mark birthdays, new babies, anniversaries and condolences.

Norwegian Mother's Day is the second Sunday of February, and Bergen's rainy winter makes a bright bouquet very welcome. Askøy also sees many confirmation celebrations in spring, when relatives who cannot attend send a bouquet to the family home. Funeral flowers are usually sent to the church, typically as a wreath with a ribbon.

Order before midnight Norwegian time for delivery the next day. The florist calls the recipient ahead of time, so a mobile number is essential, and rearranges if nobody is at home. Roses, lilies, mixed bouquets and green plants are generally available on Askøy; if a flower is not stocked, the florist proposes a closely equivalent arrangement.
