Send Flowers to Gjøvik, Norway

Gjøvik is a town on the western shore of Lake Mjøsa in Innlandet, across the water from Hamar and about two hours north of Oslo. It is home to the historic paddle steamer Skibladner and to a mountain hall built for the 1994 Olympics. Gjøvik families with relatives abroad send flowers home for birthdays, graduations, new babies and to offer condolences when a loss occurs.

Mother's Day in Norway is the second Sunday in February. In Gjøvik, florists also prepare for spring confirmations and for 17 May, when a bouquet for the grandparents hosting the celebration is a popular order from abroad. For funerals, a wreath or a sheaf delivered to the church is the Norwegian custom.

Orders placed before midnight Norwegian time are delivered the next day. The florist needs the recipient's mobile number to call ahead and arranges a new time if nobody is home. Roses, lilies, mixed bouquets and plants are usually available in Gjøvik. If a flower is not in stock, the florist suggests a closely equivalent arrangement.
